Overview

Starlight Tea Chapel is a unique venue set within the grounds of Colchester Crematorium, housed in a beautifully restored Grade II listed chapel dating back to the mid-1800s.

The business specialises in hosting wakes and celebration-of-life gatherings, alongside operating as a tea room offering drinks, light food, and cakes in a calm, reflective setting.

The brief was to elevate the brand and create a cohesive visual identity across print and digital, helping position the venue as both welcoming and professional during emotionally sensitive moments.


The Challenge

Starlight needed to balance two key aspects:

  • A sensitive, respectful tone for bereavement services
  • A warm, approachable identity for day-to-day tea room visitors
  • Consistency across multiple touchpoints (print, signage, digital)
  • Clear communication of packages and services in a simple, accessible way

The existing materials lacked cohesion and didn’t fully reflect the quality or atmosphere of the venue.

  • Mobile-friendly usability for quick access during planning

The site reinforces trust while making it easy for users to understand what’s offered and how to get in touch.
